About the competition

We are hosting the short video competition to celebrate our 45^th Anniversary!

We hope that through the submissions in the competition, we could take this time to reflect on the works of the engineering industry, and to share and celebrate the good works by our predecessors, and each and every one of you.

About the theme

The competition theme has countless possibilities on what it means to you. Engineering is a great scientific adventure, but also a great human adventure. It could be work that you admire, or your own work where you have turned your ideas into reality. It could be a programme you wrote to make your life easier, it could be a road, bridge, building you conceptualised and then built, it could be your work footage showing engineer’s daily life to turn dreams into reality!

You could showcase works from anywhere in the world, or right here in Hong Kong.

Share with us your take on the marvelous works of an engineer that turn dreams into reality, advance civilisation, or even your dreams yet to be turned into reality!

Eligible for Entry

Participants may enter as an individual, or as a team / company. Participants could be anyone involved in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Industry who has worked in Hong Kong within the recent 3 years.

Prizes

Winners will be selected by a judging panel. We will award the following cash prizes and e-certificate for each winner/ winning team:

1^st Place                                                                       HK$8,000
2^nd Place                                                                      HK$4,000
3^rd Place                                                                      HK$2,000
Other commendable videos: HK$500

We will showcase the winning videos and other commendable videos on our website, social media pages and 45^th anniversary events to celebrate the good works of our industry!

Submission format and requirements

1. Video (or reel) no longer than 2 minutes should complete the online application form and submit their entry via https://forms.gle/jK6fB1HmYoVpZXkS8 
2. Resolution of the video must be no less than 720x480 pixels.
3. Submission must be made by 8 August 2022 23:59. Late submissions will not be entertained.
4. Films may be in Cantonese, Putonghua or English or have no dialogue at all. Non-Chinese audio (and important on-screen text) must have Chinese subtitles.
5. Entries submitted are considered final version and no revision of content by participants will be entertained after submission.
6. If you use materials belonging to others in your video, you must comply with both the copyright and fair use policies. ACEHK shall not be liable for any copyright issues of the submissions received.
7. ACEHK reserves the right to use the submitted videos for non-profit making purposes, and edit, translate, adapt, use, copy and distribute all or parts of the content without getting consent from the owner or paying any fees to the entrants.
8. ACEHK and the judging panel have the right of final decision and interpretation of the competition. 

Judging Criteria

Our judging panel will judge the submissions based on the following criteria:

1. Content relevance to the theme 30%
2. Fun factor and creativity  40%
3. Quality of the video (filming/ editing skills, flow of video) 40%
