The ACEHK's objectives established in its Memorandum of Association, are to:
- Establish standards for the conduct of consulting engineers in Hong Kong
- Promote the advancement of the Profession of Consulting Engineering
- Associate Consulting Engineers for the purposes of co-operation and mutual advantage and consultation
- Promote the professional interests, rights, powers and privileges of Consulting Engineers
- Give the legislature, public bodies and others facilities for conferring with and ascertaining the collective views of Consulting Engineers
- Confer with Associations, representing manufacturers, contractors and others engaged in engineering works, on matters of common interest
- Seek to promulgate appropriate Conditions of Engagement and fee scales that provide fair remuneration for the services provided and generally to represent the profession to The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and to the public
