General Description

Au Posford is a joint venture practice between David S.K. Au & Associates Ltd. and Posford Duvivier, Haskoning Group. David S.K. Au is a well established architectural, civil 　established architectural, civil 　and　 structural consulting practice operating in Hong Kong since 1980. Posford Duvivier, a multi disciplinary consulting firm, was founded over a century ago and has 450 U.K. based staff. Posford Duvivier became part the Dutch Consulting Group HASKONING BV in 1994 which gave it access to a pool of over 2,000 staff, five European offices and sixteen international offices. The whole group is managed so that all these resources can be used internationally as required.

Au Posford has 60 H.K. based staff and with the in-house Authorized Person, Registered Structural Engineer, Registered Professional Geotechnical Engineer and Building Services Engineer to offer complete design services (including statutory submissions) and project management in one multi-disciplinary package. It provides specialized expertise in ports and harbours, roads and bridges, building structures, coastal engineering, immersed tube tunnels and marine pipelines, geotechnical engineering, marine impact assessments, environmental consultancy, and information management systems using Geographical Information System technology.

Typical Projects

Au Posford took the lead in the port planning and marine assessments for the recent PADS related port development studies. These included the Lantau Port Peninsula Study, the Western Harbour Development Study and the engineering feasibility study for Tseung Kwan O. The studies included consideration of reclamation for container and public cargo working areas, port works, shipping channels and navigation requirements, typhoon shelter planning and deepwater industrial related development.

Au Posford has been responsible for the Comprehensive Study on Marine Activities, Associated Risk Assessment and Development of a Future Strategy for the Optimum Usage of Hong Kong Waters (MARAD). This study involved data collection and modelling of all existing and future forecast marine traffic movements in Hong Kong waters through to the year 2011.

Currently, Au Posford is undertaking the Consultancy Study on Submission of Plans and Supporting Documents to Buildings Department in Electronic Data Format for Buildings 　d Supporting Documents to Buildings Department in Electronic Data Format for Buildings 　Department,　 　Hong　 Kong Special Administrative Region.　 The firm is a team member on the Study of Engineering Issues of Building Safety Inspection 　Scheme. Au Posrd is working on the Upgrading of Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) Raingauge System and the Landslip Information Handling System for the GEO.
