Fields of Specialisation In addition to the general services given above, we are also specialized in the following fields:

  • Tunnelling: Experiences in all types of ground, sized 1m to 24m diam. Soft ground tunnelling techniques, rock classification, hard rock TBM and mixed ground pipe-jacking. Tunnel linings experience includes precast concrete, SG iron, in-situ concrete & fibre reinforced shotcrete.
  • Environment: A full breadth of environmental services ranging from development of corporate policy, environmental management system, environmental impact assessments, monitoring programmes, audit and predictive modelling. Disciplines cover noise, waste, asbestos, marine, fresh water, air pollution, landscape and ecology.
  • Geographic Information Systems: Equipped with the latest computer modelling tools for applications in planning, urban design, environmental analysis & slopes.
  • Geotechnical: Experience and expertise embrace record searching, desk studies, land/marine site investigation, laboratory testing, instrumentation and monitoring, reclamation, stability studies of soil slopes, rock slope, natural terrain, retaining walls slope maintenance, geotechnical assessment and design for development sites, foundations and site formation.
  • Safety & Reliability: Applications of S&R technique in Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessments, Safety Management Systems and reliability modelling in geotechnical studies, public transport operation, and dangerous goods risk assessment. Human factors are conducted, dealing with human error prediction and quantification, ergonomic assessments and evacuation studies.
  • Transport Planning & Traffic Engineering: Expertise in strategic transport planning, project review and appraisal, multi-modal modelling, traffic impact assessment for new developments and road openings, parking demand analysis, public transport and pedestrian studies. We developed SATURN traffic modelling package.
